Founder Takiyah Wedderburn has worked closely with foster families, addressing their concerns about supporting Black children’s unique cultural needs. Families often sought guidance on managing hair and skin care and navigating the self-image challenges Black children and youth face daily.

Through these resources, NKM supports the growth, resilience, and self-esteem of Black children and youth in foster care.
